Rod Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster, has opened up about a bonding moment involving her stepdaughter Kimberly Stewart.
Speaking on the Postcards from Midlife podcast on September 28, the actress explained that shortly after Kimberly gave birth in 2011, she faced difficulties breastfeeding her newborn daughter, Delilah. Lancaster, who at that time had given birth to her son Aiden, was breastfeeding and stepped in to provide some of her own breast milk to Kimberly. However, she emphasized that she did not directly breastfeed her granddaughter. She said, “Not quite breastfed. Gave breast milk.”
Lancaster expanded on the experience in an interview with The Times last week, calling it “a real motherhood bonding moment.” She recalled, “The breastfeeding nurse said, ‘In a perfect world, you’d know someone who’s breastfeeding’ — and everyone turned to look at me.”
Reflecting on the decision, Lancaster said that she only focused on the needs of the new child. The British model said, “I remember thinking, ‘What’s the most important thing for this child?’ I knew my milk would give her the nutrients and antibodies she needed.”
During the same interview, Lancaster also offered a peek into her marriage with Rod Stewart. Comparing him to a “teenager,” she noted, “He’s living it to the full. We’re trying to keep up with him but he sets the bar.” Reflecting on his outlook on their marraige, she mentioned that he had promised her 20 years. Lancaster said, “He’s promised me 20 years, so I’m seeing 100.”
