Becky G stuns in a sculptural fit that does more with less in Iris van Herpen exhibition photos
Becky G was recently photographed in a daring sculpture outfit while attending the opening of the “Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses” exhibition at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam. The pop star’s iconic dress, with its 3D architecture and delicate silhouette, was in accordance with the exhibition’s theme.
The 28-year-old’s attire was from Iris van Herpen’s “Syntopia” FW18 couture collection. As per the official Iris van Herpen website, all the outfits from the collection had “a spatial kinetic installation ʻIn 20 stepsʼ constructed of 20 delicate glass wings that represent all the different steps of flying in an abstract way.”
And it does seem so. The “Mamiii” singers’ dress featured a high-neck mesh with intricate black and red ruffles strategically placed across the body. To do justice to the look, artist Sergio Antón De Las Nieves went for dramatic yet subtle makeup. Smoky eyes and a glossy nude lip completed her artistic dress. To keep the focus on the ensemble, the actress opted for a sleek hairstyle with a low ponytail. Becky G went minimal in terms of accessories and paired her dress with just heels.
According to the website, Sculpting the Senses “exhibition questions the place of the body in space, its relationship to movement, transformation and its environment, and its future in a rapidly changing world.” Works of contemporary art, by “artists like the Collectif Mé, Wim Delvoye, Kate MccGwire, Damien Jalet, Kohei Nawa, Casey Curran, Rogan Brown, Jacques Rougerie, Ren Ri, Ferruccio Laviani, Philip Beesley and Tomáš Libertíny,” were part of the event.
