Robotic legs available for rent in China go viral on TikTok
Christian Grossi, a travel content creator and an American tourist, has gone viral after revealing that robotic exoskeleton legs can be rented in China for a surprisingly low price.
Grossi shared his experience using the device in Zhangjiajie National Park on TikTok, shocking viewers with how easily the exoskeleton allowed him to walk and even run. He explained that while renting the exoskeleton normally costs $22, he was able to try it for free. Meanwhile, purchasing one exoskeleton outright would cost less than $1,000.
The device, weighing 1.8 kilograms, is powered by two batteries that last eight to ten hours. It allows for extended walking and running assistance. In the video, Grossi says, “Brother, this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. That’s way cheaper than I thought it would be.”
Christian Grossi also shared the experience on Instagram, where the video similarly went viral. In the video, he was strapped to the legs by the staff. As soon as Grossi began walking, the exoskeleton moved automatically with him. “It’s moving for me,” he exclaimed.
When Grossi started running, the robotic legs adjusted seamlessly. At maximum power, the robotic legs even ran almost independently, requiring little effort from him. “It’s like walking made easy,” the internet personality added, admiring the technology.
Christian Grossi’s TikTok video clip has captured widespread attention online, garnering more than 30 million views in just a few days. Many viewers were stunned by the affordability and accessibility of the technology. Meanwhile, others stated that exoskeletons are not new, as they have been previously used.
