Dwayne Johnson addresses whether he would run for President in the future
The Moana star recently spoke about running for President yet again.
In a recent interview on Variety’s Award Circuit podcast for Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming A24 drama Smashing Machine, the host quizzed him on his plans to run for the presidential elections. He replied in a surprised tone, “It’s wild, man. I’m always honored that people ask that. I love what I do. I love storytelling. But yeah… we’ll see,” not giving a committed response.
Johnson is one of the most loved celebrities in America. Hence, there is no doubt that many fans and well-wishers have requested him to participate in the elections and run for President. The Rock, as he is lovingly called by fans, considers this an “honor” but has refrained from actively participating due to his thriving career in showbiz and his family.
Nevertheless, it seems like the Red Notice actor’s fans and well-wishers are adamant about seeing him run for the presidential elections. In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2016, he first addressed his budding political ambitions.
At the time, when Dwayne Johnson was asked if he would run for President in the next presidential elections, he replied with confidence, “I wouldn’t rule it out. It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen.”
In the past, the Black Adam star has actively spoken about his political ideologies and preferences. He has even urged young voters to vote and become responsible citizens of the country. However, over the years, the 53-year-old actor’s political ambitions have seemingly dimmed. Moreover, Johnson has steered away from active conversations surrounding the topic.
