Meghan Markle might make her acting comeback soon after the second season of her Netflix series, as it didn’t work well. She launched “With Love, Meghan” last year and garnered a positive response. However, the next installment, which was released this year, didn’t achieve the goal globally. According to a source, this might lead the Duchess of Sussex to return to film or TV sets.
Meghan Markle aiming at projects that would win Emmys if she returns to acting, source claims
Meghan Markle gained fame through the popular drama, “Suits,” in which she played the character of Rachel Zane. She quit the television series ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry. At the time, she declared that she would never return to the sets. However, a source recently told RadarOnline that she has been thinking of making her acting comeback.
Reportedly, the decision came into the picture after her Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” didn’t do well in its second season. According to the outlet, the viewership dropped by “around 500,000” compared to the first installment.
The insider claimed that the low ratings have left the former actor “at a crossroads.” “People in the industry still see her as an actress first and foremost, not a lifestyle guru, and she’s being urged to go back to her roots,” they added.
Allegedly, the reason behind her rumoured acting comeback might have to do with money. The 44-year-old would seemingly want to create her own identity and earn money to back her venture, As Ever. However, a Hollywood insider claimed that she does not want to return to the entertainment business for smaller roles.
“Meghan isn’t interested in walk-on parts. She’s aiming for prestige television – the kind of project that wins Emmys,” they mentioned. Reportedly, this choice of career would secure a stable income. Hence, Markle has seemingly found this option “appealing” for now.
