Mark Wahlberg talks about his kids in new interview

Mark Wahlberg and his family attended the red carpet premiere of Play Dirty at the SVA Theater, New York City on September 24, 2025. At the event, he spoke to PEOPLE, with whom he discussed his children’s reaction to his films. He revealed that they saw Play Dirty with him in Paris.

“We saw this movie together, we were in Paris, we were all hanging out in Paris,” the Uncharted star shared. “I was doing Family Plan 2, and they love this movie.”

Wahlberg continued, “So now, they love seeing dad swearing, kicking a** — all the things that they couldn’t see when they were kids, they’re now allowed to see. And I think they enjoy those more.”

The 54-year-old actor also expressed his excitement at his family’s presence at the premiere. He noted that his daughter had been “away at school,” adding that people her age were focused on their “own thing.” The actor continued, “I really want to just spend time with them. So it’s great that we all got to get together, even if it’s just for the night.”

In addition, the two-time Oscar nominee described his experience filming Play Dirty in Australia as “a difficult shoot a long time away from home.” Wahlberg added that the shoot took place “very far away” and that he missed his family. Further, he revealed that his family paid a visit to him in Australia while he had been filming.

The Spenser Confidential star said the action sequences in the film were “easy” for him to shoot. He emphasized he was “not worried” about doing his own stunts but “more worried” about bringing Parker to life.

Play Dirty premieres on Prime Video on October 1, 2025. Shane Black directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. Besides Wahlberg and LaKeith Stanfield, the film stars Rosa Salazar, Keegan-Michael Key, Chukwudi Iwuji, Nat Wolff, Thomas Jane, and Gretchen Mol, among others.
