Alexandra Grant Addresses Keanu Reeves Marriage Rumors With a Kiss

Alexandra Grant recently responded to speculation about her relationship with Keanu Reeves. In a social media post, she addressed a photo of the two that had drawn attention. She noted it was not what many assumed it to be. Grant also urged people to be careful with what they share online.

Keanu Reeves’s publicist denied reports that the actor secretly married Alexandra Grant. Earlier this month, Radar Online claimed that the two held an intimate wedding ceremony in Europe over the summer. On September 22, Reeves’s representative told E! News, “It is not true. They are not married.”

Now, Alexandra Grant issued her own response on Instagram. She shared a photo of herself and Reeves kissing at Roden Crater and clarified, “This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss! (Albeit maybe the moment right before or after it… given the slightly goofy expressions on our faces!) We’re at Roden Crater, and Keanu and Gard had just finished interviewing James Turrell for Visionaries.” She added, “I’m sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married. Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here’s a bit of real happiness!”

Reeves and Grant have been in a relationship for several years. On September 3, Grant posted an Instagram tribute for Reeves’s 61st birthday with a photo of a heart-shaped cake, writing, “Thank you to everyone for sending over sweet wishes for Keanu’s birthday yesterday… he was well-celebrated! And to Keanu – who saw this post as a draft! – I am so grateful for your love and partnership. Now back to painting! xo.”

The two met before publishing their 2011 picture book Ode to Happiness, which Reeves wrote and Grant illustrated. They collaborated again in 2016 on Shadows and co-founded the publishing house X Artists’ Books in 2017. Their relationship became public in 2019 when they appeared at the LACMA Art + Film Gala. In March 2023, Reeves told People about spending moments of bliss with Grant, saying, “We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”
