Since Sabrina Carpenter released Go Go Juice, there has been a rumor that Dylan O’Brien is the referenced “villain” in the song. The Maze Runner star discussed this possible reference in his latest appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Here’s what O’Brien said.
Dylan O’Brien addresses rumors that he’s the alleged ‘villain’ in Sabrina Carpenter’s Go Go Juice
Sabrina Carpenter’s latest album, Man’s Best Friend, had the song Go Go Juice. In the song, a part of the lyrics says, “I’m just drinking to call someone / Ain’t nobody’s safe when I’m a little bit drunk…Could be John or Larry, gosh, who’s to say? / Or the one that rhymes with villain / if I’m feelin’ that way.”
Many speculated that this could be a reference to Dylan. When he discussed this, the 34-year-old actor said that he was not aware of or in the loop about the mention. “Well, I wasn’t aware,” the actor said, “Oh, and my name rhymes with villain.” He also did not understand a part of the question and said, “Well, she’s never drunk dialed me.”
However, host Andy Cohen pointed out that perhaps Sabrina had called, and he had not picked up. He said it was a possibility. “My house does not have good service,” Dylan added about this, “Yeah, you have to get me by FaceTime audio.”
The rumors come because Dylan was linked to Sabrina Carpenter back in 2022. Her fans believe that Dylan was not the only ex she mentioned in this song, with other references possibly including Shawn Mendes, Joshua Bassett, and Barry Keoghan.
Dylan O’Brien has been in the limelight for a long time now, despite being quite young. Since his breakout in Teen Wolf, the actor has continued his streak for decades now. He most recently appeared in Twinless and is soon set to arrive in Anniversary, Send Help, and Being Heumann.
