The viral question “Did Travis Kelce Get Cut From the Chiefs?” surfaced after the Kansas City tight end’s intense exchange with head coach Andy Reid during Sunday Night Football. Despite the speculation, Kelce has not been released and remains part of the active roster.

The incident happened late in the second quarter when Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker missed a 40-yard field goal, his third attempt of the night. With Kansas City leading 6-0 but struggling offensively, cameras caught Kelce shouting into Reid’s ear following a shoulder bump from the coach.

After the game, Reid downplayed the confrontation. At halftime, he explained he had wanted more “juice” from the team and emphasized, “Don’t make too much of it. He’s a passionate guy and I love that part. I’ve been through a lot of things with him so that’s all part of it. It’s an emotional game, so I’ll take it” (via NBC Sports).

Reid elaborated further, stressing that Kelce is “an emotional guy.” He said, “I love Travis’s passion, so I’m OK with that. We didn’t have enough of it in the second quarter, we weren’t where we needed to be. He knows when to back off the pedal and he knows when to push it too. That’s part of what I love about him. The guy’s all-in.”

Even after the tense exchange, the Chiefs regained control and defeated the Giants 22-9. This marks their first victory of the season after disappointing performances against the Chargers in Brazil and the Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium. Kelce wrapped the night with four receptions for 26 yards.
