Celebrating the 18 years of Gossip Girl, Blake Lively treated fans to a never-before-seen Gossip Girl Instagram carousel. “The summer Gossip Girl turned 18… This show was my college. It was my education, my social life, my hardwork, my late nights and early mornings, my teacher,” she wrote, reflecting on the formative experience. She added, “New York City and Silvercup Studios (& sometimes Paris) was my campus for SIX years.”
The photo collection includes candid moments of Lively with her co-stars Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford, and the late Michelle Trachtenberg. Fans were treated to behind-the-scenes photos, from makeup chair moments to fun nights out. One standout one shows Lively with Badgley in Serena’s iconic gold cotillion gown. Another one captures playful off-screen antics with Crawford bouncing in a giant inflatable.
Blake Lively teamed up with hairstylist Jennifer Johnson and makeup artist Amy Tagliamonti to unearth the photos, digging through old phones and hard drives. Her longtime friend Angie Niles explained this “deep dive” effort in the comments, emphasizing just how rare some of these shots are.
Justin Johnston, who appeared in some of the photos, reacted with surprise: “I REMEMBER THIS NIGHT. Where are you finding these?” While Lively’s castmates haven’t publicly commented on the photos yet, fans recently saw a mini Gossip Girl reunion at Paris Fashion Week. Meester and Kelly Rutherford were spotted catching up.
