Jon Bernthal Showcases His Toned Abs & Chiseled Physique in Shirtless Photo

Jon Bernthal captured his fans’ attention after he shared a shirtless photo on Instagram, showcasing his abs. The actor is currently gearing up for two major films set to release in 2026. Both projects will star Tom Holland, with whom Bernthal worked on Pilgrimage.

Jon Bernthal posted a new shirtless photo showcasing his ripped physique on Instagram. The actor, who sported a green camouflage lower, could be seen standing in front of a cupboard, looking straight at the camera, and flexing his biceps. The actor’s left pec contained a tattoo representing the United States Marine Corps.

“Back. At. It,” he captioned the post, which has received 217k likes as of writing.

The post received a plethora of reactions from fans and fellow actors alike. Peacemaker star Frank Grillo, who previously played Crossbones in the MCU, commented, “Tough guy.”

One fan asked, “Who’s getting punished?”

Meanwhile, Ben Barnes, who played Jigsaw in Netflix’s The Punisher series, wrote, “Get it,” and added a skull emoji. Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter commented three fire emojis.

“Cut arms, cut Abs Respect,” one user shared.

This post comes weeks after Mark Ruffalo — who will also reportedly appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day — reprising his role of The Hulk — expressed excitement at getting to work with Bernthal. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ruffalo, who said he had not yet seen Brand New Day’s script, expressed his admiration for The Walking Dead actor, praising his portrayal of Punisher. He also noted that they had a common friend in Lena Dunham, whom Ruffalo said “adored” Bernthal.

“I can’t wait to work with him, he’s so funny and he’s such a great actor. He plays that character like nobody else. I’m really excited to meet him, I’ve never met him!” Ruffalo added.

Apart from Brand New Day, Bernthal’s Punisher will also return in an upcoming Disney+ special, which is expected to release in 2026. This special will also star Jason R. Moore, who reprises his role of Curtis Hoyle from Netflix’s The Punisher.
