Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce faced widespread criticism after dropping a pass in the fourth quarter of the team’s match against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In the fourth quarter, with Kansas City trailing 13-10, the Chiefs were in prime position to take the lead. On a second-and-goal play from the six-yard line, quarterback Patrick Mahomes delivered a pass to Kelce on a crossing route in front of the end zone.

Although Kelce initially got his hands on the ball, he mishandled it, allowing Eagles safety Andrew Mukuba to intercept. Mukuba returned the ball 41 yards, giving Philadelphia excellent field position. Kelce visibly showed his frustration with himself after the Chiefs lost a critical scoring opportunity.

Fans reacted swiftly on social media, criticizing him over the error. One user wrote, “Watch Trav give up on the play after he dropped it. Meanwhile, our rookie LT goes balls out chasing down the picker and cutting him down. If Trav put THAT kind of effort in this game, Chiefs win.”

Another added, “(KC fan since born in ‘04, me). I’ve come to terms that he’s washed and it started last year. Honestly give him maybe one more year then he’s done.” A third user commented, “He needs to stop acting so lame. He has a strop when he cannot get his own way. Travis sucks.”

Earlier in the game, Kelce had caught four of six passes thrown to him for a total of 61 yards, showing a solid performance. However, the dropped pass became the talking point across social media.
