Sofia Vergara shared a picture of herself at the ER, recovering from an allergic reaction just before heading to the Emmy Awards. The carousel begins with a selfie showing the Modern Family star with a swollen right eye. The reaction caused the eye to turn red, causing it to shut halfway through. The gallery also included two short video clips of the actress tending to the affected eye at the ER.
One video featured Vergara lying on the ER bed with her eyes closed before jokingly opening them wide to look at the camera. Despite the ailment, the actress was an absolute sport in overcoming the situation. She maintained a cheerful spirit throughout the whole ordeal.
“Didnt make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER ??,” Vergara penned in the caption. The actress continued, “sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye allergie right before getting in the car!??.” Vergara did not give any additional details on what triggered the allergic reaction.
Needless to say, fans and fellow celebrities flooded the comment section with supportive messages and wishes for her speedy recovery.
Vergara’s America’s Got Talent co-star Terry Crews wrote, “Oh no! Get well soon!” followed by a fire and a heart emoji. Actress Lorena Meritano sent, “Sofi, ❤️,” while travel expert Jason Fong wrote, “Praying for a speedy recovery.”

In 2024, the actress bagged a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her incredible performance in Griselda as the titular Colombian drug lord.
