Hunter Schafer Poses in Daring Bustier Dress in Seoul

Hunter Schafer recently graced the pre-opening event of Gentle Monster’s Haus Nowhere in Seoul, wearing a white bustier dress. The outfit was part of Jil Sander’s RTW Fall 2012 collection. Fans took to social media to respond to Schafer’s pictures from the event, with some saying she was looking pale.

Hunter Schafer stuns in white bustier dress

At the pre-opening event of Gentle Monster’s Haus Nowhere in Seoul, Hunter Schafer donned a white strapless, sculptural dress from Jil Sanders and Raf Simons’ FW12 collection. The upper portion of the dress was fashioned to look like a curve-hugging corset bodice. Meanwhile, the lower area of the dress consisted of a high-waisted skirt with pleats and vents.

The Euphoria actress tied her brunette hair in a bun, wore orangish-red lipstick, and completed her look with a pair of bright orange neon stilettos. She accessorized with a pair of egg-shaped frames and a round silver bracelet on her left forearm.

The Cuckoo actress had a pale white appearance in the pictures. This sparked backlash on social media, with several fans accusing the Korean media of whitewashing the photos.

“What’s South Korea’s obsession with pale skin?” a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another fan tweeted, “How they managed to white wash a white person.”

A Reddit user suggested that the images were “artificially brightened.” Another user responded, suggesting that the artificial brightness was “a hallmark of Korean celebrity photography that enforces the beauty standard of very pale and translucent skin with a perfectly neutral tone.”

Meanwhile, other users commented on other aspects of the actress’ look. “I love her and this look,” a user wrote on Reddit. “The matching hair, lips, shoes combo. The dress being close to her skin-tone and the perspex glasses. Pic 8 could be 1998 and I live for it.”

Another user claimed that Schafer looked like Meryl Streep due to her hair and glasses.
