Fans React to Miley Cyrus Wearing Nothing But Body Paint

Miley Cyrus recently shared some pictures on Instagram showing her wearing nothing but body paint. These pictures sparked a plethora of reactions on social media. The pictures are from a photoshoot related to the singer’s new collaboration with the fashion house Maison Margiela. This collaboration involves Cyrus headlining their Fall 2025 campaign.

Miley Cyrus wearing body paint has fans talking

Miley Cyrus shared a series of pictures on Instagram highlighting her collaboration with Maison Margiela. In one picture, she had gone entirely nude, wearing nothing but white body paint — a reference to the fashion house’s bianchetto white-overpaint technique introduced in 1989.

However, other pictures did show the Hannah Montana icon wearing some clothing. In one, she wore a long coat that was left open, slightly revealing her naked body. In another, she donned a white dress that had an upper silky portion and a lower woolen portion.

Fans have expressed their reaction to Cyrus’ new photos on social media. “She is pure art,” one fan commented.

“truly Something Beautiful,” another added.

“MY QUEEEEEN,” one user shared.

Meanwhile, another wrote, “The Vanity Fair cover walked so this could run.” This is a reference to the 32-year-old songstress’s 2008 Vanity Fair cover. In it, she went nearly nude and was wrapped in a satin sheet, but in a manner where the back portion was considerably exposed. The cover generated much controversy and backlash, and Cyrus apologized for it.

However, she retracted the apology in 2018 via X (formerly Twitter). She wrote, “IM NOT SORRY F**k You #10years ago.”

Maison Margiela has described the photoshoot with Miley Cyrus as “stripped back” in a press release. They added that the latter was “immersed in the core codes and archetypal expressions of the maison” (via The Cut).

Cyrus, who has previously donned attire designed by Maison Margiela for various events like the 2024 Grammys and 2025 Vanity Fair Oscars party, described her latest work with the fashion house as “a lot more…intense.”

“The nudes by Paolo are so iconic and signature to his art,” the Wrecking Ball artist shared. “Standing naked for a fashion campaign felt major, all I wore was body paint and the signature painted Tabi boots.  In that moment, Margiela and I became one. Wow!”
