Sabrina Carpenter has turned heads with the participation of Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo in the official video for “Tears.” The song, featured on her seventh studio album Man’s Best Friend, has quickly gained attention for its bold style and inclusion of Domingo, who appears in multiple drag looks throughout the storyline.

The narrative begins with Carpenter walking away from a car wreck in the middle of a forest, which soon leads her to an elaborate mansion. Waiting for her inside is Domingo, styled in wavy hair, lipstick, and a cropped pinstripe ensemble. It is a direct nod to the iconic character Dr. Frank-N-Furter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

From there, the video shifts into a sequence of transformations. Carpenter’s outfit is dramatically torn apart, leaving her in lingerie that recalls Susan Sarandon’s look as Janet in Rocky Horror. Meanwhile, Domingo moves through a range of striking costumes, ranging from a black leather corset paired with a beehive wig to a striking red lingerie ensemble.

The narrative escalates with a variety of elaborate performances. This includes disco choreography, pole-spinning routines in a cornfield, and even a tractor ride. At the end, the boyfriend who appeared to have died in the crash is suddenly brought back. However, Carpenter kills him with a heel through his chest.

Fans have praised Carpenter’s commanding presence and Domingo’s unexpected performance. The actor also addressed the video with a post, “Didn’t see that coming did ya? Thank you Sabs for inviting me to truly play.” One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Coleman you’re literally one of my favorite people in the world next to sabrin, this felt like a gift to me.”
