Travis Kelce’s Ex Shares Important News Amid Taylor Swift Engagement

As news of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s engagement hit social media, the latter’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, shared some important news with fans. However, this news had nothing to do with her former beau’s engagement. Instead, it was related to a development in her personal life. Nicole and Kelce dated on and off for five years before parting ways in 2022. Since their split and Kelce commencing his relationship with Swift, Nicole has faced considerable backlash from Swifties, which she has addressed.

Kayla Nicole took to Instagram stories to announce a major development in her younger sister Layla’s life. She revealed that the latter had transferred to Langston University, an HBCU, and that she had been “suiting up for the basketball team.”

She further shared that the university was raising funds to support the program and encouraged fans to donate to it, sharing a link for the same. Nicole said, “Every dollar truly helps these women chase their dreams on and off the court.”

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and media personality dated for three years, only to break up in August 2020. The break-up occurred amid rumors that the former had cheated on the latter with Becky. However, Kelce shut down the rumors in a now-deleted tweet. “This is fake news … a lie … and not why Kayla and I broke up,” the tweet read. “Take all your hatred somewhere else please.” (via TMZ)

Nicole and Kelce got back together in November 2020. Kelce confirmed the same in an Instagram live session with WNBA player Chiney Ogwumike. In it, he called the former “the absolute best” (via TMZ).

The pair eventually broke up in May 2022. Since their breakup, Nicole has often faced a lot of online criticism from Swifties. She addressed the hate in a 2024 appearance on the Unapologetically Angel podcast. “I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and online chaos didn’t impact me, even to this day,” she shared. “You could go to my most recent posts, and people would be debating why I am worthless.”
