xQc has voiced concerns about how MrBeast’s historic Kick charity stream ended. Although the broadcast broke a Guinness World Record, the creator said he felt uneasy with the decision to keep the stream going.
What did xQc say about MrBeast?
During his August 18 livestream, xQc addressed the way MrBeast handled the record-breaking charity broadcast on Kick. The creator said he was frustrated that MrBeast chose to continue fundraising beyond the initial $5 million goal. This is because a major donor, Hayes, made a substantial contribution with the expectation that his donation would bring the event to its end. According to xQc, the stream after Hayes’ contribution made it seem as if the agreement with the donor had been ignored.
Explaining his reaction, xQc stated, “I was a little bit mad at Jimmy for not ending at 5 million. Because of the way that it was ending.” He explained that Hayes believed he was one to end the broadcast, not simply adding another charitable donation. The creator said, “As a person, not as a streamer, I was mad because Hayes was paying money for charity to wrap it up. He wasn’t paying money to charity. He was saying, ‘Oh yeah, I’m closing the gap to end the broadcast.’” (via Dexerto)
xQc also revealed that the incident weighed on him to the point where he had to step away from streaming for a few hours before resuming. Despite those concerns, he emphasized that he still fully supported the mission of the fundraiser. He made it clear that his issue was with how the ending happened.
MrBeast’s August 14 Kick livestream had originally been organized to raise $5 million for Team Water. This is an initiative MrBeast co-founded with Mark Rober to expand access to clean water. However, once the target was reached, the trio decided to aim higher. The event ultimately collected $12 million.
