In a recent interview, Travis Kelce discussed what he and his music superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift had in common. Despite being from different fields and having distinct work schedules, both have managed to make their dynamic work and are still going strong as of 2025. They have even supported each other in both their professional and personal lives. While Swift has often shown up at Kelce’s NFL games, he also once attended her globe-spanning Eras Tour.
Travis Kelce talks about how he and Taylor Swift have a lot in common
The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end recently appeared for an interview where he shared some interesting details pertaining to his relationship with his girlfriend. He noted that they had a lot in common, particularly when it came to entertaining viewers in stadiums.
“I hadn’t experienced somebody in the same shoes as me,” Travis Kelce told GQ. “Having a partner who understands the scrutiny, understands the ups and downs of being in front of millions.”
The Happy Gilmore 2 actor said that what he and Taylor Swift shared “was very relatable,” noting how she would get exhausted after her performances. He added that she didn’t think of herself as an athlete, and did not tell anyone she was one. Yet, he had seen what the “Lover” singer had gone through while working.
“I’ve seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it’s mind-blowing,” Kelce stated. The NFL star later described how Swift performed on stage. He gushed at how she grabbed the audience’s attention when asked if he had learned anything from her.
“People gravitate towards how she performs and how she makes it feel like the entire stadium is in this little room with her,” Kelce shared. “She is so good at mesmerizing everybody and making everybody feel like it’s an intimate situation.” He continued, “I think that alone—there is so much calm and coolness. She’s beautiful. She’s up there making everyone feel at ease.”
Furthermore, Travis Kelce shared how he related to that trait of Taylor Swift’s. He stated, “Whenever I get in front of a crowd, I feel like I’ve got to be like, ‘Woooo!’ Like, excited, bringing the energy. Then I saw that coolness and that calmness and that relatability that she is so good at presenting. I really grabbed that. Like, ‘Man, I can use that side of entertainment as well.’ It’s not just always being the guy that brings the energy and creates these exciting moments.”
Kelce also discussed the similarities between his mother, Donna Kelce, and Swift. He highlighted their “kindness, genuineness, and ability to say hello to everyone in the room.” Additionally, Kelce noted that both shared a similar work ethic, that being, setting goals for themselves.
