Jennifer Aniston has revealed that conversations with her friend Gwyneth Paltrow sometimes drift to the topic of Brad Pitt. In a recent Vanity Fair interview, the Morning Show star said she and Paltrow, who was once engaged to Pitt, still bring him up in conversation.
Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow ‘of course’ talk about Brad Pitt
Jennifer Aniston has shared that one of her closest friends is Gwyneth Paltrow, who is also Brad Pitt’s former fiancée. In her Vanity Fair September cover story, Aniston listed familiar names like Jason Bateman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Sandra Bullock as part of her inner circle. She surprised fans by including Paltrow among them.
Their friendship dates back decades, to when Aniston’s Friends co-star David Schwimmer filmed The Pallbearer with Paltrow. “Ironically, I went to her and Brad (Pitt)’s engagement party,” Aniston said. Asked if the subject of Pitt ever comes up, she replied, “Oh, of course. How can we not? We’re girls.”
Beyond the shared history, Aniston said they regularly exchange advice. “We’re always swapping advice — ‘What are you doing for this? What are you doing for that? Do you have a new doctor for that?'” she shared.
Paltrow and Pitt first met on the set of David Fincher’s Se7en in 1995, becoming one of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples before getting engaged in 1996. They broke up a few months later. Pitt married Aniston in 2000, but the marriage ended in 2005 amid headlines linking him to his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie.
Reflecting on the media coverage during that time, Aniston referred to it as “the love triangle” that tabloids closely followed. She said her coping method was to “pick yourself up by the bootstraps and keep on walking.”
Aniston will next return as Alex Levy when The Morning Show season four premieres on Apple TV+ on September 17.
