Travis Kelce misses father’s girlfriend’s funeral
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift did not attend the funeral of Ed Kelce’s partner, Maureen Maguire. This was reportedly due to the NFL star’s obligations with the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp.
The service took place on Thursday, August 7, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Pennsylvania’s Gladwyne. On the same day, Travis was photographed at training camp in Missouri, where the Chiefs were wrapping up mandatory practice ahead of their preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals on August 9.
At the memorial, Ed Kelce acted as a pallbearer alongside six other men. His elder son, Jason Kelce, was also in attendance with his wife, Kylie Kelce. Photos obtained by Page Six showed Ed helping to lead the procession, while Jason stood by in support of his father.
Maguire passed away on August 1 at the age of 74. Born in the Bronx in 1950, she eventually settled in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Her obituary read, “She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch. Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.”
Ed Kelce publicly shared news of her death on August 2. Neither of his sons has spoken publicly about her passing. In addition to Ed, Maguire leaves behind children and grandchildren from a previous relationship, all of whom gathered alongside friends to honor her life.
