Brad Pitt is facing the heartbreaking loss of his mother, Jane Etta Pitt, with the unwavering support of his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon. The actor lost his mother on August 5 at the age of 84. According to reports, de Ramon has been by his side as the actor navigates through the loss.
A source told PEOPLE, “She wants to be there for him and Brad is very much letting her be that person.” Another source said, “Ines is really close with Brad’s family as well.” They also added that Ramon “immediately reached out to send her condolences as soon as she heard the news.”
Jane Pitt, a retired school counselor who built her life in Springfield, Missouri. She leaves behind her husband, William, and three children: Brad, Doug, and Julie. Her death was confirmed publicly by granddaughter Sydney, Doug’s daughter, in a moving Instagram post on August 6.
“My sweet Grammy, Jane Etta,” Sydney wrote. She added, “We were not ready for you to go yet but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint again makes it a tad easier.” Remembering her grandmother’s compassion, she shared, “She cared deeply for everyone and everything, no questions asked.”
“She was love in its purest form,” Sydney wrote, adding that her grandmother’s presence will be felt “in every brushstroke, every kind gesture, every hummingbird.” Not long after Sydney’s tribute, a source close to the Pitt family confirmed Jane’s passing to TMZ.
