Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen talk setting relationship boundaries beyond filming
While talking about Platonic Season 2 with Extra, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne were asked how they set boundaries in their real life, concerning work, relationships, and friendships. Both actors responded enthusiastically to the question and claimed that it was not the hardest thing to do for them.
Byrne, who plays Sylvia on the show, said, “Well, once you have kids, the game changes. You’re like, okay, all you have to like prioritize your, you know, everything changes. So, that’s just a natural boundary that falls into place.” She further stated, “Um, I’m pretty good at boundaries, I think.”
Rogen, who portrays Will, also added to this, saying, “I am pretty good at boundaries. Yes, I’ll just ignore people if I feel they are crossing a boundary…They’ll figure it out.” Both actors started laughing at this and agreed that Rogen’s method, though unconventional, will usually get the job done. “Sometimes saying nothing is the most powerful thing,” he added.
Notably, the question of boundaries arose in the interview due to the central theme of Rogen and Byrne’s series, which focuses on former best friends reconnecting during their mid-life crisis years, after a long falling out. The series has gained immense critical acclaim since its release in 2023. Its second season has now premiered on Apple TV+.
With two episodes already out, the third episode will be released on August 13, 2025, followed by new episodes each week. Its finale is scheduled for October 1, 2025.
