Wondering why Pixie Polite’s name has been trending alongside reports of an assault? Online chatter surged after the Drag Race UK star revealed she was attacked in a London supermarket in what police are treating as a homophobic hate crime.
Here’s what really happened to Pixie Polite, what she shared on social media, and how authorities are handling the case.
Pixie Polite rushed to hospital following an attack
Pixie Polite, Drag Race UK Season 4 alum, was assaulted in a homophobic attack at a Tesco in Colliers Wood on July 28, 2025.
She revealed via Instagram Stories, “Just got assaulted in Tesco at Colliers Wood. Punched in the back of the neck. Sick of this s–t.” The performer later confirmed she was heading to the hospital with a suspected concussion but was “mentally fine.”
According to Pixie, the assault began with mocking comments that escalated into verbal homophobic abuse and then physical violence. She shared, “An incident that evolved from general comments and mocking, into verbal homophobic abuse, then into violence.” She also noted, “When they catch the guy it will be prosecuted as there’s CCTV, witnesses and I also got a picture of the guy.”
The Metropolitan Police Service confirmed the incident and is treating it as a hate crime. A statement read, “Police spoke with one victim, a man in his 30s. An investigation has been launched, and the incident is being treated as a hate crime. Enquiries are ongoing. At this stage, no arrests have been made.”
Pixie later posted, “Majorly appreciate everyone’s concern and blown away by the amount of messages I have received. Feeling a little groggy today, and have taken the day off to rest and process what happened.” She also said police “were surprisingly great.”
In August 2023, Pixie previously reported being threatened with a whisky bottle in South London. Her recent experience reflects broader concerns over LGBTQ+ safety in the UK. Despite a reported 18.7% drop in homophobic hate crimes in London over the past year, incidents on public transport have risen by 34%. (via The Blast)
Pixie’s case follows other attacks, including Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne’s 2023 assault in Liverpool and its lasting impact.
