An interview from 2003 featuring Lindsay Lohan and Anthony Anderson recently resurfaced online. This resulted in immense online backlash directed towards Anderson, as he made sexually-charged remarks when discussing Lohan’s dating life. Now, Anderson has responded to the backlash and clarified what he intended with the interview. At the time of the interview, Lohan was 17 years old, while Anderson was 33.

Anthony Anderson regrets old interview with Lindsay Lohan

A spokesperson for Anthony Anderson recently released a statement addressing his 2003 interview with Lindsay Lohan. In the interview, Anderson made remarks about Lohan’s dating life, which netizens have found inappropriate and offensive.

“This interview was clearly intended as comedy. He regrets if the humor was in poor taste and maintains the utmost respect for Lindsay,” the actor’s representative stated to Entertainment Weekly. “Any implication to the contrary is both inaccurate and potentially defamatory.”

Lohan’s interview with Anderson — edited portions of which are making the rounds online, highlighting Anderson’s comments — was an episode of The Sharon Osbourne Show, released on December 16, 2003. For this episode, Anderson was filling in for Osbourne.

In the interview, Anderson asked The Parent Trap actress — who was there to promote the DVD release of Freaky Friday — about her personal life. To this, Lohan replied that she had bought an apartment with her friend and fellow actress Raven-Symoné.

Anderson complimented both actresses, telling Lohan, “Both of you are beautiful women. Both of you are young and have your own individual styles.” He then asked Lohan how she and the That’s So Raven star would compromise when decorating their apartment.

Lohan responded, “We kinda have the same ideas, and I mean our rooms are completely different.” She explained that her room was entirely pink while Symoné’s had a darker shade.

“But that’s what’s cool about it,” she added. “We’re not…we’re not like going at each other with the same things.”

Anderson switched things up by asking Lohan, “What gentlemen will be at the new pad with you and Raven-Symoné?” Lohan responded that she did not have a boyfriend, prompting the former to exclaim, “She’s single, but looking!”

Lohan clarified that she was “illegal for people that are old.” Anderson replied, “Some men like them young. We ain’t gonna mention no names, but I’m one of them.”

Before the commercial break, Anderson told viewers, “Right now, we’re about to get our freak on.” He subsequently moved next to Lohan and put his arms around her as she covered her mouth with her hands.
