Rachel Zegler was recently spotted channeling the ‘Don’t Disrespect My Danny’ meme with a t-shirt that had those words inscribed on it. The 23-year-old actress is currently performing as the lead in the West End production of Evita. The production began previews in June, followed by its opening on July 1, 2025. It is scheduled to end its run on September 6, 2025.

While signing autographs backstage, Rachel Zegler and her bodyguard, Danny, were shown a t-shirt by a fan that had the words, “Please don’t disrespect my Danny,” etched on it. A surprised Zegler expressed her excitement at getting to wear the t-shirt and thanked the fan who gave it to her. Meanwhile, Danny smiled upon seeing the t-shirt.
The Snow White actress eventually wore the t-shirt and appeared in a picture she took with some fans.
The “Please Don’t Disrespect My Danny” meme originated from an incident involving Zegler and Danny one month ago. During an autograph signing, shared in a Reddit video, one angered fan accused the latter of shoving. However, the West Side Story actress came to Danny’s defense. She pleaded for the fan to understand that he was “just doing his job” and was “protecting her.” Zegler added that Danny was only helping her, noting how crowds could be intimidating. She then politely asked the fan, “Please don’t disrespect my Danny, okay?”
Rachel Zegler’s actions defending the bodyguard earned her praise and heartwarming reactions from several fans.
“She’s so sweet,” one fan wrote. “I’m glad she has a bodyguard now. If anyone needs one these days, it’s her.”
Another fan added, “She did such a good job handling this,” before proceeding to commend how she deftly de-escalated the situation between the frustrated fan and Danny.
“Princess in real life,” a fan commented.
Zegler recently returned to perform in Evita on Friday, July 25, 2025, after exiting mid-show on Thursday, July 24, 2025, due to an illness. Following her exit, Bella Brown, who played The Mistress, filled in for her for the remainder of the show.
