Jake Ferguson Praises Taylor Swift’s Knowledge About Football

NFL star Jake Ferguson is still awestruck from his memorable encounter with Taylor Swift earlier this year. The Dallas Cowboys tight end recently shared how he felt after meeting the pop sensation at the 2025 TEU event.

So, here are all the details.

Here’s what Jake Ferguson said about Taylor Swift

Dallas Cowboys’ Jake Ferguson recalls feeling starstruck after meeting Taylor Swift at the 2025 Tight End University (TEU) event. Speaking with The Sweet Spot, he shared the details of the encounter with the singer, showering her with praise. “I shook her hand, I still haven’t washed my hand,” he joked.

He went on to gush about the pop star’s genuine excitement for football and added, “She’s so normal, she’s so nice! Not that I was expecting anything different, but like, she knew football. She was talking like, ‘We [the Chiefs] got a big game at Cowboys this year!'”

Founded by renowned NFL tight ends Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Greg Olsen, the Tight End University (TEU) is an annual three-day event. It provides a platform for all tight ends to “bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers.”

Ferguson attended the annual affair in June 2025, along with over 70 other high-profile tight ends on the current NFL roster. These include Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, Gunnar Helm, and more. The event took place on the practice field at Vanderbilt University and was hosted by popular ESPN reporters Laura Rutledge and Dan Orlovsky. (via TEU)

On June 24, 2025, TEU organized a special Tight Ends & Friends concert for all the guests, which Taylor Swift attended with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. The “Love Story” singer also delivered a surprise performance at the event, held at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville. She sang her 2014 hit “Shake it Off,” dedicating the song to “our favorite players who are going to play and these are the tight ends.” (via People)
