Scooter Braun Sends Message to Taylor Swift Fans

Music executive Scooter Braun is ready to share his thoughts regarding Taylor Swift buying back her masters and a portion of her “angry fans” who have bashed Braun on social media over the years.

For the uninitiated, Braun acquired Swift’s old record label, Big Machine Label Group, in 2019, gaining rights to her first six albums. Braun’s company Ithaca Holdings sold the masters to Shamrock Capital for $300 million the following year, prompting Swift to re-record her albums. His original move had drawn significant criticism online, including from the Grammy-winning singer herself.

Here’s what Scooter Braun said about Taylor Swift fans

Almost half a decade after the apparent conflict between Scooter Braun and Taylor Swift, the former is ready to put the much-talked-about chapter to rest. In a recent appearance on the Question Everything podcast, the former CEO of HYBE America talked candidly about Taylor Swift’s master recordings controversy while dismissing the rampant and ongoing criticism against him, brought mostly by Swifties.

Braun addressed the “hate” he receives online from a portion of the legendary pop singer’s fanbase, claiming that his addressal also might cause “yelling and screaming” online. He further noted, “You can’t say anything right, and it is what it is. My response to that is they made the horrible miscalculation that I care.”

The record executive made it clear that he does not harbor any ill feelings towards the fans. He said, “And if I met them in person and they needed my help, as a stranger, I would help them.” To put the criticism in a wider context, Braun also discussed the global scale of Swift’s fanbase.

He added, “I think people forget that when you have a fan base that big and 10,000 people are yelling at you, it feels like the world is ending, but that’s less than 1 percent of a fan base that big.”

Meanwhile, Braun believes the “Bejeweled” crooner buying back her masters was a win for everyone involved. He gushed, “The cool part, if you actually pay attention, is everybody in the end won.”
