While promoting The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby joined BBC Radio 1 for a lighthearted interview that featured a special segment called “Kids Ask Difficult Questions.” In this portion of the show, young fans submitted recorded questions for the guests to answer.
One of the children asked, “What would you do if you had your Fantastic Four powers in real life? What is the first thing you would do?” The young girl also enthusiastically shared her own answer, saying, “I would go around town and save everybody.”
Pascal responded first, joking, “What’s that got to do with Taylor Swift?” which led to everyone in the studio laughing. Kirby replied, “I know. I was trying to make a link there.” One of the radio hosts added, “Taylor Swift comes everywhere.”
Kirby then joked, “Invisibly sneak up on Taylor,” before pausing to think more seriously about the question. “Umm, what would I do with Sue’s powers? This is a really good question,” she said, referring to her character Sue Storm’s abilities.
Pascal followed up with, “Become invisible and sneak into one of her concerts,” to which Kirby added, “Yeah. We’ve discussed. Yeah.” Both actors agreed that using their characters’ powers, they would secretly attend Swift’s concert.
Pascal and Kirby’s friendship has stood out during the promotion of their Marvel movie, set to release on July 25. As part of the press, the duo spoke about the ways they supported one another behind the scenes. Pascal also shared that Kirby played an important part in helping him prepare for his role. In a clip that has been widely shared online, he mentioned how her encouragement boosted his confidence, especially during the early stages of joining the cast.
