Pedro Pascal Shares Post About LGBTQ+ Youth Support Line

Pedro Pascal has taken to Instagram to express his support for LGBTQ+ youth. This follows the federal government’s decision to dismantle the LGBTQ+ support branch of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. In his post, Pascal shared crucial resources from The Trevor Project, which continues to offer support.

Pedro Pascal shares details about The Trevor Project

Pedro Pascal recently took to Instagram to raise awareness about the abrupt end of a critical mental health program serving LGBTQ+ youth.

The actor used his platform to inform followers that the LGBTQ+ Youth Specialized Program, previously operated under the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, has been officially terminated by the Trump administration. The initiative was managed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). It had offered support to over a million young LGBTQ+ individuals across the country before being discontinued.

To help bridge the gap in available mental health services, Pascal directed attention to The Trevor Project. This organization continues to provide crisis support to LGBTQ+ youth. In his caption, the actor wrote, “Counselors will still be available 24/7/365. Help close the care gap by supporting #TheTrevorProject Lifeline. Fundraising link in my bio. #988 #MentalHealth.” He also shared the group’s contact details, including call, text, and website access.

Pascal’s post has drawn praise online, with fans applauding his efforts to highlight the issue. One user commented, “Thank you for always using your platform.” Another commented, “They so lucky to have you @pascalispunk as they voice, the world needs more Pedro Pascals in the world.”

Earlier this year, Pascal joined more than 100 high-profile figures in expressing opposition to a proposed federal budget cut that targeted mental health services for LGBTQ+ youth. The draft, which was leaked in April, outlined plans to withdraw $50 million in funding allocated for suicide prevention programs connected to the national 988 crisis hotline.

The open letter drew support from a wide range of celebrities. These included Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Paulson, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Sabrina Carpenter, and others.
