‘Travis Kelce Traded to Steelers’ Trend Explained Amid Rumors

While Travis Kelce has only donned the Kansas City Chiefs jersey in his 13-year NFL career, ongoing rumors suggest that he could sport the colors of the Pittsburgh Steelers after supposedly getting traded to the team. As such, football fans have come out to inquire if the speculation about the 35-year-old tight end ditching the Chiefs for the Steelers contains any amount of credibility.

So, here’s everything you need to know about Kelce’s rumored move to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Did Travis Kelce get traded to Steelers?

Despite the online chatter, the Kansas City Chiefs have not traded Travis Kelce to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The trend regarding his transfer popped up on the internet after a horde of videos, claiming that the NFL veteran has switched teams, went viral. Many such clips mentioned that the Chiefs had parted ways with Kelce and replaced him with the Steelers’ DK Metcalf. However, this rumor is completely fake, and both athletes should start the upcoming NFL season with their respective sides, barring any last-minute changes.

One such video showcased the three-time Super Bowl champion dueling with what appeared to be the New Orleans Saints in an old match-up, with the text, “Travis Kelce traded to Steelers.”

A sports profile on TikTok, named Sportsnewsbs, which posts fake transfer videos seemingly to troll fans, recently shared the aforementioned clip, causing many NFL enthusiasts to assume that the move has taken place. However, the video also had a caption, reading, “Travis Kelce has been traded to the Pittsburg Steelers for Dk Melcalf. this is fake and a prank,” that simultaneously debunked the rumor.

The speculation about Kelce’s trending but false move to Pittsburgh gained more traction after the tight end shared one of his initial interactions with former Steelers edge rusher James Harrison during his recent appearance on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast. Kelce noted that during a clash between the Chiefs and the Steelers, he managed to win a block against Harrison, only for the two-time Super Bowl champion to humble him three plays later.
