‘Did Ozzy Osbourne Retire’ Trends Following His Final Black Sabbath Show

Wondering why the phrase “Did Ozzy Osbourne retire?” is trending? The trend follows his emotional appearance at the Back to the Beginning concert in Birmingham, where he reunited with the original members of Black Sabbath. It has been widely described as his final performance. Now, many fans are questioning whether Osbourne is truly retiring.

The question “Did Ozzy Osbourne retire?” has gained widespread attention following what has been described as his final live performance. On July 6, 2025, Osbourne reunited with the original members of Black Sabbath: Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, for a special concert event titled Back to the Beginning, held at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. As per Black Sabbath’s official website, the event was billed as Osbourne’s farewell performance.

This marked the first time in over two decades that the original Black Sabbath lineup shared a stage. Their appearance was limited to four songs: “War Pigs,” “N.I.B.,” “Iron Man,” and “Paranoid.” Guitarist Tony Iommi had previously indicated that physical limitations among the members would keep the set short.

Osbourne, who sat on a bat-topped black throne during the performance, addressed the audience of 42,000. He said, “It’s so good to be on this f—— stage, you have no idea. Let the madness begin!” The legendary frontman also expressed his gratitude, saying, “Your support over the years has made it all possible for us to live the lifestyle we live. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you. We love you.” (via CNN)

Before reuniting with his bandmates, Osbourne performed a solo set backed by his longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde. That segment included “I Don’t Know,” “Mr. Crowley,” “Suicide Solution,” “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” and “Crazy Train.” The 75-year-old singer, who revealed his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2020, told the crowd that he had been “laid up for six years.”

The entire concert was hosted by actor Jason Momoa, who actively engaged with the crowd and even jumped into the mosh pit. Following Osbourne’s final number, he was presented with a cake as fireworks lit up the sky above Villa Park.
