David Corenswet recently discussed who he wants his Superman to meet and team up with in the DC Universe in a recent interview. Releasing in July 2025, Superman will not only serve as the first film of the sprawling superhero cinematic universe but also Corenswet’s debut in the genre.
David Corenswet comments on Superman and his next meet up
At the UK premiere for Superman, David Corenswet revealed that he wanted his Superman to team up with Nightwing or any of Batman’s protégés.
“I think it would be really cool because Superman has good dad energy,” the Twisters actor added. “I’d like to see his uncle energy,”
Corenswet had echoed similar sentiments in an interview with ComicBook, where he also expressed interest in linking up with Wonder Woman. He further mentioned wanting to explore a “love triangle” between the latter, Superman, and Lois Lane.
The Damian Wayne version of Robin is currently set to debut in The Brave and the Bold. Gunn said that the film will focus on the character’s relationship with Batman. As of writing, neither Robin nor Batman has been cast. It’s also unknown if Dick Grayson’s Nightwing will appear in the film. However, what is known is that Andy Muschietti, who helmed The Flash for the DCEU, will direct the upcoming film. Meanwhile, Gunn recently confirmed in an Entertainment Weekly interview that a Wonder Woman film “is being written now.”
Thus, David Corenswet’s Superman will inevitably cross paths with both Robin and Wonder Woman.
Moreover, Corenswet recently expressed uncertainty over Superman’s acknowledgment of Batman’s existence in the DC Universe. However, he shared that the Last Son of Krypton would be excited to meet the Caped Crusader if he were to find out about the latter and his crime-fighting activities.
Superman soars into theaters on July 11, 2025. Besides David Corenswet, the film stars Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, and Isabel Merced.
