Jason Momoa recently joined the mosh pit at a Black Sabbath concert at Villa Park, Birmingham. The concert marked the band and lead singer Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance following the latter’s Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.
Jason Momoa spotted in Black Sabbath mosh pit
As seen in various social media videos, Jason Momoa was seen entering the mosh pit of fans during Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning concert. The audience was preparing for a four-song set from special guest Pantera. As he made his way onto the pit, a portion of the audience members circled the 45-year-old actor. However, he didn’t seem uncomfortable and started dancing and jamming to the band’s music once they began their performance.
In the footage, Momoa could be seen wearing a black tank top, pants, and boots.
Another video shared on social media depicted the See star standing near the stage before heading into the mosh pit.
Momoa had previously opened up about his hiring as Back to the Beginning’s compère in an interview with Kerrang! He noted that his appointment happened unexpectedly while trying to nab tickets to the concert as a fan. “I was just calling my buddies. I called Scott Ian, I called Kirk [Hammett], I called people basically begging to go,” the Dune star shared. “And then Ross Halfin, who’s the photographer of every goddamn band, he hit me up and [asked if I was going to be there].”
Momoa recalled telling Halfin that he was trying to purchase a ticket. However, Halfin informed the actor that Sharon Osbourne wanted him to host the event, much to his surprise and disbelief. “I’m over here begging for a ticket, and now they want me to host it!” he added. “I’ve never hosted anything before, but I’ve gotta go out in front of all these f—-ing people and host! And now it’s on pay-per-view. Jesus Christ…”
Momoa claimed he would be “s—-ing his pants” when attending the concert. He added that it would be “the goddamn greatest metal show in history.”
