What happened to Connie Francis?

Pop singer and actress Connie Francis updated fans on why she had to return to the hospital. The top-charting female vocalist of the late 1950s shared she is undergoing several tests after experiencing “extreme pain.”

The singer noted on Facebook, “As many of you may now have learned through Cousin Brucie’s Facebook page, I am back in hospital where I have been undergoing tests and checks to determine the cause(s) of the extreme pain I have been experiencing.”

The singer referred to radio DJ Brucie’s 4th of July special show, which she had planned to attend. In a later update, she revealed that she’s been moved from intensive care to a private room following tests.

The current hospitalization of Connie Francis comes after her recent hip surgery for a pelvic fracture. The singer had previously told fans that she had been experiencing “pelvic pain on [her] right side” on June 25. The veteran pop star underwent tests to determine “that this is due to a fracture.”

“It looks like I may have to rely on my wheelchair a little longer than anticipated,” she said, informing fans that she won’t be attending Brucie’s June 28th radio show.

Meanwhile, retired singer Connie Francis has seen an increasing popularity of her 1962 song “Pretty Little Baby,” which went viral on social media. The catchy tune has garnered millions of streams since its viral resurgence this spring.

The song’s sudden rise in virality led Republic Records to reissue the track as a single. The singer acknowledged its popularity and thanked fans and global artists, including Kylie Jenner, Taylor Swift, and others who used the song in their social media posts.
