Sophia Hutchins, longtime friend and manager of Caitlyn Jenner, has died at age 29 following an ATV accident near Jenner’s Malibu residence.
Law enforcement and family sources confirmed Hutchins was pronounced dead at the scene on the morning of July 2, 2025. According to TMZ, Hutchins struck the bumper of a moving car while riding an ATV, which then veered off the road and dropped 350 feet into a ravine. The two passengers in the car did not suffer any injuries, and no one else was involved in the accident.
It remains unconfirmed whether Caitlyn Jenner was home at the time of the crash. Authorities have not commented further on the investigation, and Jenner has not responded to media inquiries. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has not released an official statement.
Hutchins met Jenner in 2015, shortly after Jenner publicly came out as transgender. The two formed a close bond, with Hutchins later becoming Jenner’s manager and CEO of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation. Hutchins appeared in multiple episodes of the E! docuseries I Am Cait, which chronicled Jenner’s transition and life post-Olympic fame.
Hutchins also founded LUMASOL, a health tech company, and served as its CEO. She helds a degree in economics and finance from Pepperdine University, graduating in 2019. PEOPLE confirmed Hutchins’s death and reported that she was born on April 1, 1996, in Bellevue, Washington.
In a previous interview with The Hidden Truth with Jim Breslo, Hutchins said of Jenner, “We have so much in common; we see the world so similarly… She challenges me in so many ways, has allowed me to grow in so many ways and I hope I challenge her to grow.”
She was known to be a close presence in the Kardashian-Jenner family circle and attended several high-profile events alongside Jenner.
