Miley Cyrus talks about receiving Hollywood Walk of Fame star
Miley Cyrus is reflecting on earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On July 2, the pop icon shared her excitement and deep gratitude on X (formerly Twitter). She reflected on how this honor connects to her earliest days in Los Angeles.
Cyrus recalled walking Hollywood Boulevard with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, back when they were still new to the city. She wrote, “When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad [Billy Ray Cyrus] when no one would recognize him.”
She further added, “We’d have the gift shops to ourselves & buy knock off Oscars and Marilyn Monroe merchandise. To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream.”
The honor is especially meaningful following the release of her visual album Something Beautiful, which incorporated scenes filmed directly on the Walk of Fame. The album, released May 30, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and included a track titled “Walk of Fame.” As part of the film, Cyrus filmed nighttime footage of herself crawling across celebrity stars on Hollywood Boulevard.
However, the scene resulted in unexpected consequences. While promoting the project on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in May, Cyrus revealed she developed a serious knee infection after the shoot. Joking about the doctor’s reaction, she said, “To have a surgeon look at you and say, ‘Yuck.’ Like, they open up cadavers, they see inside the guts of humans, and they’re looking at me telling me I’m disgusting.”
Cyrus will officially receive her star in 2025, joining inductees that include Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, and Josh Groban.
