Why Is Molly Qerim Absent From ESPN’s First Take?

Molly Qerim’s sudden absence from First Take has led fans to speculate that she might be leaving the show. Since 2015, she has served as the co-host of ESPN’s morning sports debate show, where she, along with Stephen A. Smith, who is also currently on a break, shares insightful views on trending sports topics and under-the-radar news. Qerim’s latest absence from the show has concerned fans, with some thinking whether it’s an indication of her departure from the network. But here’s the truth.

Where is Molly Qerim and why is she absent from ESPN’s First Take?

Qerim is not leaving ESPN’s First Take. She is currently on vacation.

While Qerim’s absence from the chat show left many fans concerned, the popular TV host recently reassured them through a social media post that she’s simply on a break. She took to Instagram to share her peace-out image, with a caption that explains her absence from First Take.

She wrote, “Another NBA szn in the books. Thank y’all for rocking with us 10 yrs & counting. Time to work on my tan-lines, shut my brain off & be with the fam. See ya in a few weeks. Grateful always, MQ.” This means that Qerim is on vacation and will likely resume her duties later this July.

With Smith and Qerim currently on their respective vacations, First Take continues to premiere with a new host, Evan Cohen. He is popularly known as the host of the ESPN radio show Unsportsmanlike.

The rumors about Qerim’s departure sparked at the beginning of the week, when many fans noticed that she didn’t appear on the show. Fans were quick to take to social media to ask about her whereabouts. They got a sigh of relief after Qerim’s post, which justified her latest absence. Both Smith and Qerim are expected to be back before the NFL season begins.
