Cody Johnson’s ‘God Bless America’ Performance Fight Breakout Update

Renowned country music veteran Cody Johnson recently encountered an unceremonious incident during his ongoing 2025 tour when a fight reportedly broke out at his San Antonio, Texas concert. As a result, the singer was forced to pause his show, which took place last Saturday, in order to sort things out.

So, here’s everything you need to know regarding the scuffle that took place during Johnson’s latest concert in Texas.

Fight breaks out during Cody Johnson’s ‘God Bless America’ performance

On June 21, the “Dear Rodeo” singer took to the stage in San Antonio to perform several original compositions as part of his ongoing 2025 tour across the country.

Sometime into the show, Cody Johnson started singing his hit single, “God Bless America.” He dedicated it as a tribute to all US service members and first responders. However, Johnson had to halt proceedings shortly afterward as a brawl broke out in the crowd right after his performance.

A clip of the incident has since gone viral on TikTok. It shows a horde of attendees grappling with each other before falling to the ground amid the chaos at Cody Johnson’s Texas concert. The 38-year-old artist soon acknowledged the precarious situation and tried to control the crowd to avoid things from escalating.

However, in the process, Johnson jokingly took a jibe at fellow musician Travis Scott. The latter’s 2021 Houston concert witnessed a fatal stampede that claimed the lives of 10 fans. “I mean, this is not a Travis Scott concert. There’s kids in the crowd, there’s all kinds of things in here that don’t need to happen,” the singer noted.

Notably, Cody Johnson had preached the idea of ‘unity and not being divided’ to the audience before performing “God Bless America” at the said concert. With the fight taking place right after this song, he acknowledged the irony. Johnson said, “Well, so much for my speech on not being divided.” (via Daily Mail)

Luckily, local authorities soon sprang into action, allowing Cody Johnson to complete the rest of his concert smoothly.
