Brad Pitt recently poked fun at the press’ usage of iPhones and mini-mics for interviews at the F1 movie premiere. The film, which hits theaters this weekend, follows Pitt’s Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula One driver. He is brought out of retirement to coach a young but talented driver, Joshua “Noah” Pierce, for the Apex Grand Prix team. Joseph Kosinski, who previously helmed films like Top Gun: Maverick and Oblivion, directed the film.
So, here’s everything about Pitt’s recent jibe at the press during interactions at the F1 movie’s premiere.
Brad Pitt comments on the press’ use of iPhone and mini mics
As seen in a recent video uploaded by a fan online, an interviewer approached the Bullet Train star with a baby mic at the F1 movie premiere. Upon seeing the mic, he quipped that the former’s use of it was “so sad.”
“You guys are going down and dirty,” Brad Pitt added in the X ( formerly Twitter) video. He jokingly expressed an interest in chewing the mic, asking if anyone has “chewed” it. The 61-year-old actor then pretended to chew the mic, as the interviewer told him he would “be the first.” To this, Pitt replied, “Alright. And then the last.”

Pitt’s remarks sparked different reactions online, with users agreeing with the actor’s opinion. “He’s right,” one fan wrote. Meanwhile, another user stated, “He’s right. Lazy b—s lol.” However, one user defended the interviewer, noting, “It’s technology. It’s not sad at all.”
F1 director Joseph Kosinski recently talked about Brad Pitt’s commendable work on the movie in a recent interview with India Today. He highlighted the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor’s “incredible shape,” mentioning how it proved instrumental in the filming process, as driving Formula One cars was incredibly taxing.
F1 races into theaters across the United States on June 27, 2025. The film had its premiere at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 16. Besides Brad Pitt, the film also features Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Kim Bodnia, Shea Whigham, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, and Samson Kayo.
