The Weeknd Cancels Las Vegas Concert For Production Reasons

The Weeknd just canceled his Fourth of July weekend concert in Las Vegas. Fans hoping to catch the “Blinding Lights” singer on July 4 will have to sit this one out, as he pulled the plug on the show due to some complications. While the cancellation disappoints many, the artist still plans to perform the following night as scheduled.

Here’s why The Weeknd canceled his Las Vegas concert

The Weeknd’s July 4 concert at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, was officially canceled due to “production load-in issues,” according to the team’s message shared by a fan on Reddit. It also noted that The Weeknd’s team is “actively looking for potential dates to possibly reschedule this show.” An update posted on Ticketmaster also assured fans that automatic refunds would be processed within 14 to 21 days.

Meanwhile, the July 5 concert remains unaffected and still has limited tickets available. This show is part of The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour, the North American leg of which resumed in May and will end in September. Before Las Vegas, The Weeknd headlines four nights at SoFi Stadium in L.A. on June 25, 26, 28, and 29.

This isn’t the first speed bump on the tour. Back in 2023, The Weeknd canceled 11 shows in Australia and New Zealand due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Still, the After Hours Til Dawn tour has remained a massive global event since it launched in July 2022.

The tour now supports his latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, released in January. The project features big-name collaborators like Travis Scott, Future, Lana Del Rey, and Playboi Carti. The Weeknd and Carti’s single “Timeless” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

While the album has been well-received, its companion film, also titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, has struggled. With a reported $15 million budget, the film only grossed $7.6 million and drew criticism for its storyline and The Weeknd’s acting.
