Halsey recently shared a selfie on social media wearing a medical port, putting her health issues in the spotlight again. Last year, the singer made headlines after revealing that they had been diagnosed with LUPUS SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022. However, they mentioned at the time that they had managed to get the illnesses into remission with the help of doctors.
So what happened to Halsey? Here are their health issues explored.
Halsey shares photo of herself with a medical port on Instagram
Halsey recently shared a series of photos and a video clip on Instagram. The first photo was a selfie of the “Closer” artist wearing a white tank top and posing in front of a hospital bathroom mirror.
The subsequent photos were of an “Open the Schools” bracelet, another selfie of Halsey, who was wearing earphones, the singer sitting on a sofa beside their three-year-old son Ender Ridley Aydin, and another selfie of the musician as they stuck their tongue out, while getting make-up done.
Meanwhile, the video clip showed the singer watching a cartoon on TV. The clip featured what seemed to be their feet as well as their fiancé Avan Jogia’s feet.
“Evidence that I still exist when the show ends,” Halsey captioned the post. “90s mom haircut loading.”
The post sparked a plethora of reactions from fans. Some of the comments highlighted the port present on Halsey’s chest.
“Ohh you have a chemo port? I’m sorry Beautiful,” one fan wrote.
Another fan commented, “Port representation we love to see it.”
Meanwhile, Jogia commented with an airplane emoji.
Halsey first disclosed their 2022 Lupus SLE and rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder diagnosis in June 2024, following the release of their new single “The End.” They shared that the diseases were “currently being managed” or put “in remission.”
The “Colors” musician revealed that they faced “a rocky start” when starting their treatment. However, they had gotten their illnesses “under control with the help of amazing doctors.”
A few months later, Halsey posted on X (formerly Twitter) that they had suffered a seizure. However, they later updated fans, mentioning they had been discharged from the hospital after a few days.
