So what happened to Ronnie McDowell’s health? Is he okay? Here’s his health scare explained.
Ronnie McDowell suffers mini stroke mid-performance
Ronnie McDowell was hospitalized after he started slurring during his performance at the Summer Solstice Music Festival on Saturday night.
McDowell’s tour manager told WKRN News that the singer was three or four songs into his performance when he started slurring and “not making sense.” The manager shared that he stopped the performance, took the “Wandering Eyes” artist to the side, and asked him if he was okay. McDowell reportedly responded that he wasn’t and expressed his belief that he had suffered a stroke.
McDowell’s son, Tyler Dean, addressed fans on Facebook sometime after. He acknowledged their concern for the musician, promising to offer updates if necessary. Around this time, McDowell’s official Facebook page asked fans to keep the singer in their “thoughts and prayers.” They also informed that his family will be offering updates on his health situation on their personal platforms.
On Sunday, Tyler Dean updated fans, informing them that he had arrived in Pennsylvania and was in the hospital room with his brother, Ronnie Dean, and McDowell. He said that McDowell was talking to them, and that they were “waiting to do the MRI.”
Later, Ronnie Dean revealed via Marnie Ericson that the hospital was doing a CT scan and an MRI on McDowell. He also thanked fans for their prayers and support. Ronnie Dean later confirmed that McDowell suffered a “mini stroke.” He also mentioned that the hospital would be doing an “imaging on his heart” the following day.
Two days later, Tyler Dean revealed that Ronnie McDowell had been discharged from the hospital and they were on the way home. He promised to offer fans an update soon.
