MGK Calls Himself Daughter Casie’s ‘Cheerleader’ at 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards

Wondering why Machine Gun Kelly brought his daughter Casie to the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards, and what did his “cheerleader” comment really mean? The orange carpet witnessed a heartfelt moment between the rapper and his teen daughter, drawing attention not just to MGK’s performance but to his life as a father.

Here’s everything that happened when MGK and Casie made their return to the KCAs.

MGK makes heartwarming appearance with teen daughter Casie

Machine Gun Kelly appeared with his 15-year-old daughter, Casie, at the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on June 21 at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The outing marked a rare joint appearance on the orange carpet and their third time attending the KCAs together.

Casie introduced her father’s performance of his new single “Cliché” during the event. Speaking to People, Casie said, “[He] definitely gives a lot of advice. He’s more like a hype man, though,” adding that he encourages her to be herself. MGK responded, “Yeah, I’m a cheerleader.”

MGK, born Colson Baker, wore an all-black outfit, while Casie opted for a light purple dress. The event took place nearly three months after MGK welcomed his second daughter, Saga Blade, with ex-partner Megan Fox. MGK said of life with a newborn, “Megan is in the no sleep club, for sure,” and added that he’s been traveling and performing while trying to catch up on sleep. “Women are in the rougher trenches of the newborn process, but my specialty is music and laughs and whatever I can do to make her smile,” he said.

He also shared that he recently wrote a lullaby on a ukulele for Saga. Casie described being an older sister as “fun” and added, “I love her so much. It’s so cute. It’s like, different, you know?”

The father-daughter duo recently shared a hug outside MGK’s Today performance for the Citi Concert Series. He also brought Casie to the KCAs in 2017 and 2019, and to the 2021 American Music Awards. His upcoming album, Lost Americana, is scheduled for release on August 8. Before being slimed after his performance, MGK said he hoped to be “a vessel for a really happy project in a very dark time.”
