Blake Lively recently shared insights into her daily routine as a mother of four during an interview with Delish.
Shortly after launching her latest Betty Booze product, Vodka Iced Teas, Lively discussed the realities of managing mealtimes in a large household. “I always was like, ‘I’m gonna be the parent that’s gonna make one meal, and you’re gonna get what you get, and they’re gonna love it,’” she said. “They have such different palates,” she admitted.
Lively acknowledged that the plan to serve a single family meal didn’t work. Instead, she now prepares different meals for each child. “I’m a restaurant myself where, ‘Oh, I’ll have this and I’ll take the this,’” she explained. “Can you guys just agree on one thing so I can make one thing?” she joked. Despite the extra effort, Lively said, “I do really love to cook so I do end up making different things for different kids.”
She noted that children’s tastes evolve over time. “Their palates change. They try a lot when they’re little, and then they just wanna go into beige foods. There’s that period. And then they start trying things again,” Lively said. “Even my palate changes so much. It’s fun. I love cooking.”
Lively also revealed a unique twist on a common drink. “I just really like butter. Anything butter. Butter is in our lemonades,” she said. “It’s my little secret. My little umami. I know it’s a weird thing. It just gives it a little je ne sais quoi.”
Lively shares her four children with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Her comments came during a period when Justin Baldoni, her co-star in It Ends With Us, is involved in a lawsuit unrelated to Lively’s public remarks.
