Aaron Taylor-Johnson sparks James Bond casting rumors at 28 Years Later premiere

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has stirred fresh speculation about his rumored casting as the next James Bond. This is due to the actor’s vague response during the London premiere of 28 Years Later on June 18. When asked directly by Deadline about his next project, Taylor-Johnson offered only a quick response. He said, “I can’t talk about it,” before walking off.

Taylor-Johnson’s brief comment quickly gained traction online, with fans interpreting his silence as a possible confirmation that he will star in James Bond. One user wrote on X, “I reckon they’ll announce him as the next Bond at the same time they drop the date for the next movie. Willing to bet they’ve already wrapped up filming. Just look at how quiet his filmography is going forward.”

The 35-year-old actor has long been considered a frontrunner to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. With Amazon and MGM now developing the upcoming installment of the franchise, speculation about the casting has only grown. Although he had previously dodged questions about casting, this latest exchange sparked a wave of new buzz.

Fueling the speculations further, Taylor-Johnson was recently appointed as a global ambassador for Omega. The luxury watch brand has been closely tied to the Bond image since Pierce Brosnan wore it in GoldenEye. It was last seen in Daniel Craig’s No Time to Die.

Rumors about the next Bond have swirled since Craig’s departure in 2021. Over the years, several actors have been rumored to take on the role, including Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, James Norton, and Leo Woodall.
