Eric Dane attends red carpet after opening up about ALS diagnosis
The Euphoria star stunned in an all-white attire at the premiere of Amazon Prime Video’s new series, Countdown, on Wednesday night.
Eric Dane’s latest appearance at the TV show’s red carpet marks his first public appearance since he talked about his ALS diagnosis earlier this year. The actor attended the Los Angeles event with photographer and filmmaker Janell Shirtcliff. He kept his red carpet look casual, sporting a white T-shirt and a matching cardigan and tan pants.
“I feel good. It’s nice to be here with everybody and see the hours and hours of work that we put into this come alive on screen,” Dane told Variety. Previously, he opened up about why he is choosing not to slow down despite the progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting his movements.
The Last Ship actor told E! News, “I’m going to ride this till the wheels fall off.” Dane was also candid about disclosing why he chose to team up with Amazon’s MGM Studios. He gushed, “It keeps me sharp. It keeps me moving forward, which is super important right now.”
Dane shared how “work” is playing a crucial role in his life right now. He noted, “I feel great when I’m at work,” he continued. “Of course, there have been some sort of setbacks, but I feel pretty good. My spirit is always pretty buoyant, so at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.”
In another interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America, Eric Dane has recently revealed that he’d lost the function of his right arm. The celebrity stated, “I feel like maybe a couple, few more months, and I won’t have my left hand [functioning] either.”
Meanwhile, the Valentine’s Day actor announced his ALS diagnosis this year in April. According to the Mayo Clinic, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a nervous system disease that “affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.” The degenerative condition, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, causes loss of muscle control.
