Julia Roberts celebrated her son Henry’s 18th birthday with the world with a touching tribute. Roberts shared a childhood picture of Henry on Instagram, captioning it, “In the blink of a joyful eye this beacon of a boy is 18. I love you Henry.”
In the Instagram photo, Henry appears in a green hoodie. His golden blonde hair peeks from the hood—a shade reminiscent of Roberts’ iconic hair color from her early Hollywood films.
Almost a month ago, fans got another rare glimpse into Roberts’ personal life when the star’s husband wished her a happy Mother’s Day. In the Instagram tribute, Roberts and her three kids, Henry, Hazel, and Phinnaeus, posed with bright smiles amid nature.
Henry was born on June 18, 2007, three years after Roberts and Moder tied the knot. Before that, the celebrity pair welcomed twins Hazel and Phinnaeus in November 2004.
The Eat Pray Love actress has shared in the past why she mostly keeps her kids’ private lives away from public view. In a chat with USA Today in 2013, the Golden Globe winner shared, “We try to protect our kids. We just want to have our family life and not have that intruded upon.”
A decade later, Roberts also dished on her principles of parenting in an interview with Today. Roberts revealed how she tries to limit the usage of phones in her home.
She noted, “So for us, we just had sort of simple rules where we had a charging station where everyone’s phones go when you get home. There’s no phones at the table, certainly.” The Runaway Bride star added that she “parents” them in the same way even after they have become adults.
