Here’s what Kelce said about his weight loss.
Travis Kelce says ‘don’t believe everything’ amid weight loss rumors
Travis Kelce recently pushed back against a widely circulated claim that he had lost 25 pounds during the offseason. The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end addressed the rumor directly during a press appearance on June 18.
When a reporter brought up the alleged weight loss, Kelce quickly interrupted. He said, “First of all, I never said that,” before cautioning the audience, “Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet, guys, all right. I never told anybody.” The NFL star stated that while he has lost some weight since last season, he never specified the number.
Kelce said, “I’m down some weight, yeah, from the end of the season last year. Each year’s different, man. You’ve got to rebuild it.” He explained that the current offseason gave him more time to focus on specific training methods he didn’t get to last year. He added, “Certainly feeling good, and it’ll pay off.”
Beyond clearing up the weight loss speculation, Kelce also reflected on his future with the Chiefs and the upcoming season. “The Chiefs organization knows how much I love them,” he said. “I can’t see myself ever playing anywhere else.” He added that his current focus is on “winning a championship this year,” and emphasized that he is committed to being a strong leader and teammate.
Looking back on the team’s last game of the previous season, Kelce admitted he didn’t live up to expectations. He pointed out that “having my attention to detail” was one of the areas where he believes he fell short. Kelce also shared his new approach to address those shortcomings.
