Apple iPhone users might finally get their hands on foldable models, with reports suggesting a premium-priced new series could be on the horizon. Currently, Samsung and Google lead this space with flagship models like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 ($1,899) and Pixel 9 Pro Fold ($1,799).
With competitors commanding nearly $2,000 price tags, Apple’s foldable entry would likely target the same premium segment. The tech giant’s reputation for high-end pricing suggests their foldable iPhone could match or exceed these costs when—and if—it eventually launches. For Apple consumers, the emerging foldable category could be the next luxury option, given its portable sizes.
Analyst claims Apple might launch an iPhone foldable soon
After speculating about Apple’s foldable iPhone series, fans of the tech brand think it is finally in the making. Apple has not officially disclosed any statement, but tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo took to X (formerly Twitter) to report on the upcoming series.
As per the analyst, a major electronics manufacturer and Apple‘s assembly supplier, Foxconn, will kick off the project in the third quarter of 2025 or the early 4th quarter of 2025. All the details regarding the phone’s manufacturing have not been finalized. However, “the foldable display” is allegedly a confirmed specification.
The analyst further revealed, “Recent market rumors suggest Apple has placed an order for 15–20 million foldable iPhones.” The post also mentioned that mass production of foldable iPhones could be starting in the second half of 2026. Kuo noted that the plans can change prior to the official project kickoff. However, iPhone users can expect premium pricing for the upcoming foldable category.
Meanwhile, Apple fans have started speculating regarding the size and pricing of the foldable models, if rumors are to be believed. One fan posted on Reddit, “iPhone portability with near-iPad mini display size. I doubt it’ll run iPadOS or iPad apps, though.” Another user noted the price could be as high as $2000.
A third user explained why Apple could make a significant mark in the foldable phone market if the tech giant chooses to join Samsung, Google, and others. They said, “Apple does have a reputation for better hardware support. Which may be a major factor with foldable adoption versus relying on repair partners.”
